P6 STEM Challenge
Our P6 pupils have been busy exploring the theme of connections across the curriculum. In Literacy, the class have been focusing on instructional writing, learning how clear, detailed steps help us complete a task accurately and confidently.
To bring this learning to life, the children were challenged to follow written instructions to build a range of bridges using K’Nex. This hands-on task encouraged them to read carefully, think logically, and work collaboratively—skills that are vital both in the classroom and beyond.
The activity helped pupils see how good instructions connect directly to real‑world problem‑solving. They loved testing out their constructions, discussing what worked well, and making improvements along the way.
A fantastic blend of Literacy, teamwork, and STEM—well done, P6!
