P6 have been making brilliant cross‑curricular links as we connect our Term 1 topic of Space with our Term 2 theme of Connections. Recently, the class have been hearing in the news about the exciting possibility of space hotels in the future, which sparked lots of curiosity and imagination. Using this idea as inspiration, pupils worked in teams to design and build their own model space hotels using recycled materials.
As part of our Connections topic, the children also took on a range of construction‑industry roles — from architects and designers to site managers and builders — planning their structures carefully and thinking about how each part would function in outer space. The end results were creative, thoughtful, and wonderfully inventive, showing off both teamwork and problem‑solving skills. The children worked excellently in their groups and were very proud of what they produced.
