P6 School Trip – Cemcor & Ballinderry Fishery
Primary 6 had a fantastic day out recently visiting Cemcor and Ballinderry Fishery, and we were very lucky to have such lovely weather!
At Cemcor, the children learned all about how cement is made, from raw materials right through to the finished product. It was fascinating to see the process and understand how important it is for construction and everyday life.
We then travelled to Ballinderry Fishery, where pupils explored the natural environment and learned about the importance of protecting our waterways. They discovered how freshwater mussels are being preserved and why they are so important for maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
The children represented our school brilliantly throughout the day and gained so much from this hands-on learning experience.
We want to thank the staff of Ballinderry Fishery and Cemcor, Cookstown for allowing us to visit, and organising such an interesting and fun experience for the children.
